I sent this in a support email, but thought I'd also post here for any insight/movement.
I recently purchased the Moddedzone Elite 2 controller with the ultimate mod pack and all upgrades. I’ve been trying to do one of two things, but it’s not really going well.
Option A: Recreate the native controller mapping that I had originally used with my other non-modded Elite 2 controller, using the Titan app and new modded controller.
Or, Option B: Combine the native Xbox mapping options with the Titan app profile mapping options.
From what I’ve discovered so far, the full customization and ‘remappability’ is not really working. From what I can tell, you can only remap the paddles to other face buttons, but you cannot map the other buttons (specifically the triggers).
Admittedly, I use a pretty odd controller map, but I mainly rely on having the L2 trigger act as Xbox’s native shift key. However, I cannot for the life of me find a way to map the L2 to a different button, as stated earlier, it seems like you can only map the back paddles. This seems far from ‘fully customizable’? I cannot make use of any of the FPS mods, since they all seem to expect that every person uses the LT/L2 as aim and RT/R2 as fire, but that’s not me.
Additionally, I heavily rely on Xbox’s shift button mapping functionality. I’d happily port over every native Xbox mapping to the app and rely solely on that, but I run into another issue, that being a general lack of a ‘shift’ assignment option.
So, 3 main gripes; I cannot map face buttons, I cannot have any button assigned as a shift key and I cannot assign the paddle buttons with a secondary key that becomes activated when holding the native shift key.
This wouldn’t be too big an issue, however, if I do not use the P1-4 mods in my current profile, then they are not useable at all. I would assume that when the back paddles do not have mods assigned, they would fallback to the Xbox native mapping. Basically, if we were to pretend I do not have access to the app for some reason, this would mean I can not use the back paddles at all. That seems very incorrect, leading me to think that the onboard processing is pre-processing, when it should be post.
I’m a CompSyst Engineer (BScE), and without cracking this thin open, I have the feeling that the mod processing is on the incorrect end of things. The app seems to take precedent over the native Xbox mapping, when it should be the other way around in order to get them working in unison and without odd conflicts. Fixing this would require a complete rebuild of the onboard processing though, which I think is out of the question and won’t help me. I understand there being some limitations, but I’d expect the native shift functionality to be retained?
There is one possible fix for the main issue, which I believe could be an available option, but requires an update. That would be to allow mapping the shift key to any button (when you assign a button as the shift in Xbox’s native profile mapping, hitting that button registers as a shift rather than the actual button input) AND allowing the P 1-4 buttons to be mappable to any other face buttons/triggers. For example, using a non-modded controller, where P1 is assigned as A. When I press the P1 back paddles, it registers to my Xbox as being the P1 button, which it then processes into whatever the mapping is set to (A in the example) on Xbox's side. So, it seems to me that both the P1-4 mod settings in the app also need to allow setting as just the P1-4 paddle input (which it cannot do atm). If it were able to do so, then I could use both the native mapping and the app mapping together.
Ultimately, I believe I could find a work around if I were able to set any of the face buttons or triggers to any other button I’d like. But without the ability to do so, the controller seems like it might be of no use to me. I REALLY hope I’m missing some method for setting these options, but I feel as though I’ve looked everywhere/tried anything, so I’m reaching out. HELP!!
I included a screen shot of my native mapping, which I think will give you a better idea of what I’m referring to. If able, I’d suggest creating a native profile on Xbox SX using those settings with the controller and you’ll get an idea of what I’m battling here.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated,
